Southlands can equip you for your destiny. not only can you develop your own discipleship but you can add great specialised training that equips you for changing the world. For example –
if you are interested in working with children or teenagers, then consider doing a Discipleship Training School (DTS), followed by studying Principles in Children and Youth MInistry (PCYM) followed by developing your leadership skills with Certificate 4 in Christian Missions (C4CM). You will end up with a nationally recognised Certificate in Youth Ministry with the added bonus of lots of practical experience.
Or if you are interested in Education, then a DTS followed by the Foundations in Education training program (FIE) would benefit you the most.
YWAM’s discipleship and training programs aim to equip followers of Christ to serve more effectively in a variety of missionary fields…
YWAM Southlands is also affiliated with YWAM’s international network of tertiary level education/training known as the University of the Nations. The University of the Nations is not registered/accredited as a university in Australia, however all YWAM Training courses may be eligible for transfer credits with the University of the Nations.
Internationally, YWAM training centres operate in +150 nations, offering +1,200 different courses in more than 200 fields of interest. The heart of the training is to provide students with practical, biblically based training for all aspects of the missions experience.
Modular training schools enable each individual to specialise their studies in order to compliment their unique gifts and calling, while being equipped to serve on a mission field at home or abroad.
YWAM schools usually take place within a YWAM community at one of our centres around the world. They combine classroom teaching with ongoing discipleship and practical service. Most programs incorporate several weeks of application activities, often in another culture, where the principles learned are practiced in order to accelerate learning.
YWAM Schools vary widely in their size and surroundings, depending on the location. It is important to note that all applications for individual schools are handled at the YWAM centre which hosts them.
The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a pre-requisite to all other YWAM programs or staff positions.
