Urban Impact

“People don’ t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”

-Theodore Roosevelt

Urban Impact is a ministry that connects with the city of Melbourne in a variety of ways and desires to see its people transformed. We believe that  as we seek the peace and prosperity of the city God we bless us (Jeremiah 29:7).

Mercy Matters

A considerable focus is on what is called “Mercy Matters” which seeks to reach out to the poor and disadvantaged of our community.

We run a soupvan to St Kilda once a week where our guys hang out with people facing difficulties such as homelessness, addictions, financial problems and mental illness. As we are providing a meal we are able to show that we care, take an interest in them and share God’s love.

We also offer a weekly “pamper” afternoon for sex workers in St Kilda – through this we are able to get to know the girls, listen to their problems and show concern.

Blessing Boroondara

In our local community of Boroondara,  we are involved in a lot of practical projects such as gardening for the elderly, rubbish removal, graffiti removal and an annual family fun day in our local park.

Mainly music

We run a weekly mainly music program for community, parents and their preschool children. It is a fun group where they introduced  to music & creativity. During morning tea we have the opportunity to share with parents about God and help them connect to a local church.

Partnering Ministries

We also collaborate with other ministries in Melbourne such as Stitches Ministry, who work with under privileged inner city kids. We help Stitches with The Homework Club which runs to help provide extra learning and support  for kids with their school work. We also help them run their kids carnivals and enable the message of Jesus to be shared.
